God requires us to believe; contrary to what we feel, see, or understand. In Romans 4 we read about Abraham, who believed God and it was accounted to him as righteousness. Despite everything he logically knew about life, God told him something crazy. He was supposed to believe that Sarah, 90 years old and he being 100 years old, would have a baby. Really?
Yet, in Romans 4:18 Abraham believed. That’s crazy faith.
Is it scary? Yes. Does it require you stay connected to God? Yes. In the life of a believer we are challenged to believe that God is for us, and that no thing shall be against us. Our faith is constantly tested by fire, through various trials, to ultimately perfect us.
God is seeking righteousness and we get there by simply believing God’s word when it’s tough. When we don’t see a way out, look at God. When we lose hope, look at God. When it’s impossible, look at God. That’s what Abraham did. That’s what I’m doing from now on.
